About Me
Dr. Rachel Cooley is a pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus specialist who cares for children and adults with eye alignment disorders and other vision conditions. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Vanderbilt University, following her ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech where she served as chief resident. Dr. Cooley is dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care for pediatric patients and is experienced in managing a wide range of eye conditions.
Before returning to Texas, Dr. Cooley served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville, where she was the Chair of the Pediatric Ophthalmology Division and Medical Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Norton Children's Hospital. Her academic background and leadership roles reflect her commitment to high-quality patient care and advancing the field of pediatric ophthalmology.
Dr. Cooley is an active member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, where she serves on the Young Ophthalmologists Committee. She is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Texas Academy of Ophthalmology, and Texas Medical Association. She and her colleagues at Children's Eye Center of South Texas maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay current with the latest medical trends.
