About Me
Dr. Preeya K. Gupta is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive eye care with advanced training in cornea and refractive surgery. She earned her medical degree from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha honors, and completed her ophthalmology residency at Duke University Eye Center, where she received the K. Alexander Dastgheib Surgical Excellence Award. Dr. Gupta further honed her skills through a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at Minnesota Eye Consultants.
With a strong academic background, she served as a tenured associate professor of ophthalmology at Duke University from 2011 to 2021. Dr. Gupta is actively involved in the ophthalmology community, serving as an elected member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Refractive Surgery clinical committee and as past-president of the Vanguard Ophthalmology Society. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, contributes as a reviewer for leading journals, and has edited educational series like Curbside Consultation in Cataract Surgery.
Her dedication to excellence has been recognized with awards such as the National Millennial Eye Outstanding Female in Ophthalmology Award and the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award. Dr. Gupta is committed to providing high-quality patient care and advancing the field through research and education.
