Dr. Preethi Ganapathy

Dr. Preethi Ganapathy, MD/PhD, is an ophthalmologist at Upstate Medical University who sees both adults and children. She focuses on glaucoma care, helping patients protect vision through careful evaluation and long-term monitoring.

In clinic, Dr. Ganapathy provides comprehensive eye diagnostic testing and offers a range of ophthalmic procedures, including laser surgery for glaucoma and other eye surgeries when needed. She is also an assistant professor in Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and in Neuroscience and Physiology.

Dr. Ganapathy completed a glaucoma fellowship at Duke University Medical Center after ophthalmology residency at Cleveland Clinic. She earned her MD and PhD in cellular biology from Augusta University, and her research interests include how glial signaling pathways relate to neuronal strain in glaucoma.
