Dr. Philip Lieu

Dr. Philip Lieu is a retina surgeon who diagnoses and treats diseases of the retina and vitreous, seeing patients in multiple Retina Specialists offices across the Dallas–Fort Worth area. He provides both medical and surgical care, with a focus on complex retinal problems and helping patients understand their condition and options in clear, practical terms.

His clinical work includes management of diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments and related scarring conditions, macular disease, retinal vascular disorders, age-related macular degeneration, ocular trauma, and ocular inflammation. Dr. Lieu’s research interests include multi-modal imaging for macular disease and diabetic retinopathy, as well as education for residents and fellows. He aims to treat every patient with compassion, careful attention to detail, and straightforward communication.
