Dr. Peter Timoney

Dr. Peter J. Timoney is an oculoplastic surgeon specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, eye socket, and tear drainage system. He earned his medical degree at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Kentucky. He further advanced his expertise with a two-year ASOPRS oculoplastics fellowship at Indiana University.

Dr. Timoney's clinical focus includes the evaluation and treatment of orbital and periorbital trauma, thyroid eye disease, eyelid malpositions, and tearing issues. He performs reconstructive surgery for conditions such as ophthalmic Graves’ disease, orbital trauma, and eyelid cancer, as well as cosmetic procedures to restore a more rested appearance. His approach to care is to build partnerships with patients, educate them about their conditions, and guide them through treatment options.

Currently, Dr. Timoney serves as the Director of Oculofacial Plastic and Orbital Surgery and is the program director of the ASOPRS Accredited Fellowship at the University of Kentucky. He is committed to providing the highest level of care and passing his knowledge on to the next generation of physicians.
