Dr. Peter Coombs

Dr. Peter Coombs is a board certified ophthalmologist who provides specialized care for retinal and vitreous conditions. He completed his undergraduate degree at Tufts University and earned his medical degree from Cornell University. He then stayed at Cornell for his ophthalmology residency and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship, gaining advanced training in complex eye surgery.

Dr. Coombs has contributed to academic articles in ophthalmology and previously practiced in New Hampshire before moving to Salt Lake City to join Utah Eye Centers. He also served as a health care volunteer in the Peace Corps in Mali, West Africa for two years, bringing a compassionate global perspective to patient care.

Dr. Coombs is multilingual, speaking English, Spanish, and some French. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and spending time with his wife and two children.
