About Me
Dr. P. Christi Carter is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides medical and surgical eye care, including advanced cataract surgery with Lifestyle Lenses. A native Texan, she attended Texas A&M University on a full volleyball scholarship and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Kinesiology. Her outstanding academic and athletic achievements at Texas A&M include being named a National Strength & Conditioning All-American candidate and earning a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-American Women’s Volleyball First Team.
Dr. Carter discovered her passion for ophthalmology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She completed her internship at Houston Methodist Hospital and then pursued residency training at the prestigious University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where she received the Resident Leadership Award and actively contributed to research and academic presentations. Before joining Heaton Eye Associates, she served as a comprehensive ophthalmologist in Marble Falls, Texas.
Now making her home in Athens, Dr. Carter is dedicated to serving the East Texas community. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons, playing volleyball, scuba-diving, wakeboarding, hiking, and participating in Bible study.
