About Me
Dr. Oliver Fischer is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon with advanced fellowship training. He graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Binghamton University and received a master’s in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University. Dr. Fischer obtained his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed a transitional-year internship at Columbia University, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Mount Sinai in New York City.
He pursued two prestigious fellowships, the first in ophthalmic pathology at the top-ranked Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and a subsequent vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at Dean McGee Eye Institute. Dr. Fischer specializes in the medical and surgical management of all diseases of the retina, vitreous, and macula, as well as ocular trauma. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Outside of work, Dr. Fischer likes to spend time with his family, as well as travel, ski, and run marathons. He also plays the violin and piano.
