Dr. Nicholas Gurney

Dr. Eileen Bowden is a board-certified ophthalmologist at the Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute who specializes in glaucoma, cataracts, and anterior segment disorders. She cares for both adults and children, offering medical, laser, and surgical options matched to each patient's needs. Dr. Bowden serves as an assistant professor and Associate Residency Program Director in the Dell Medical School Department of Ophthalmology, where she mentors trainees and helps shape curriculum. She earned her MD from Baylor College of Medicine, completed a transitional internship at Dell Medical School, ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, and glaucoma fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Her academic interests include outcomes of glaucoma surgery and improving patient education and policy around vision care. Dr. Rebecca Chen is a glaucoma and cataract specialist at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and sees patients in Dallas and Frisco. She provides both medical and surgical care for people living with glaucoma, and has particular expertise in caring for patients who also need cataract surgery or combined procedures. Dr. Chen earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute, where she served as chief resident. She then pursued fellowship training in glaucoma at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute as a Heed Fellow before serving on the faculty at the University of California, Davis and later joining UT Southwestern. Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and a book chapter on ocular infections and glaucoma. She enjoys partnering with patients to explain complex eye diseases in clear language. Outside of work, she likes exploring local restaurants, hiking, traveling, trying new hobbies, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Mohammad Pakravan is a glaucoma specialist whose practice includes medical, laser, and surgical care for glaucoma as well as cataract and refractive surgery. An associate professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, he is known for offering modern, minimally invasive options and for clear explanations that help patients choose the procedure that fits their needs and lifestyle. Dr. Pakravan earned his medical degree and completed ophthalmology residency and a glaucoma fellowship at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran. He then completed advanced glaucoma training at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital. He also holds an MBA from Westcliff University. His expertise spans MIGS and implant-based procedures as well as cataract and laser vision correction, allowing many patients to reduce drops while maintaining excellent vision quality.
