Dr. Chen earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute, where she served as chief resident. She then pursued fellowship training in glaucoma at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute as a Heed Fellow before serving on the faculty at the University of California, Davis and later joining UT Southwestern.
