About Me
Dr. Neil Mahesh Vyas is an ophthalmologist who practices cornea care and comprehensive eye care with Kaiser Permanente in Southern California. Raised in the region in a family of physicians, he pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Southern California and completed medical school at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine.
After training on the East Coast at Boston Medical Center for ophthalmology residency, Dr. Vyas returned to UCLA for fellowship training at the Jules Stein Eye Institute in cornea and external diseases. He cares for medical and surgical conditions affecting the front of the eye and is experienced in a range of corneal transplantation options, including full, partial, and ultra-thin grafts.
He also performs small-incision cataract surgery and works with premium intraocular lens options, including toric and multifocal lenses to help address astigmatism and presbyopia. Dr. Vyas values shared decision-making and long-term relationships with patients, and he is proud to be an LGBTQ care provider. Outside the clinic, he enjoys singing, tennis, hiking, and vision-restoring volunteer work abroad.
