About Me
Dr. Nader Ameli is an ophthalmologist who has specialized in retina and vitreous surgery since moving to Southern California in 2004. He grew up in suburban Chicago and completed his advanced retina fellowship at Harvard Medical School, which prepared him for his focused practice.
His clinical work is dedicated exclusively to diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous, the critical inner structures of the eye. Dr. Ameli commonly manages conditions such as retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, macular holes, and macular puckering. He performs all his surgical procedures at the Vermont Pavilion within Kaiser Permanente’s South Bay Medical Center, ensuring comprehensive care for his patients.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Ameli enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, and activities like beach biking, tennis, and attending concerts. He is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care as part of the Kaiser Permanente team.
