She also treats infectious and inherited diseases of the cornea and anterior segment. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in biochemistry and a minor in Hispanic studies, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
