About Me
Dr. Michael Lopez leads the pediatric ophthalmology division at Dayton Children’s, providing expert eye care for infants, children, and adolescents. He focuses on careful evaluation and clear communication so families understand the diagnosis and the treatment plan to support healthy vision.
He earned his medical degree at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and completed ophthalmology residency training at USF, following a pediatrics internship at Tampa General Hospital and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. His subspecialty training includes a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Lopez values a practical, family-centered approach and enjoys spending time with his wife and children outside of work.
