About Me

Dr. Matthew Wilde is a fellowship-trained retina specialist who provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care in Charlotte and Pineville, North Carolina. He specializes in treating a range of retinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and retinal vascular conditions. His expertise also covers secondary intraocular lens placements for complex cases, offering patients advanced treatment options.

He graduated summa cum laude from Brigham Young University with a degree in exercise science before earning his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Wilde completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida and further specialized through a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Retina & Vitreous of Texas. As a sub-investigator in multiple national clinical trials, he incorporates the latest evidence into his practice to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
