Dr. Matthew Marano

Dr. Matthew J Marano Jr. is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in general ophthalmology and cataract surgery. He is the founder and director of Marano Eye Care, with offices in Denville, Livingston, and Newark, New Jersey.

Dr. Marano earned his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine. He has been recognized as a New Jersey Monthly Top Doctor for over a decade. He is among the first surgeons in the country to perform bladeless laser cataract surgery and offers advanced surgical techniques including LenSx femtosecond laser cataract surgery, iLASIK, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) with iStent implantation. His practice performs over 2,000 major eye surgeries annually.

In addition to surgical care, Dr. Marano provides comprehensive medical management for conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration. He serves as Chief of Ophthalmology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and Saint Michael's Medical Center, and as Chief Medical Editor of Ophthalmology 360.
