Dr. Mark Whitten

Dr. Mark Whitten is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the Medical Director of Whitten Laser Eye. With more than 40 years of experience, he is one of the most experienced LASIK surgeons in the Mid-Atlantic region, having performed over 400,000 laser vision correction procedures. Dr. Whitten treats a wide range of vision conditions, including cataracts and refractive errors, and is known for staying at the forefront of new technology to achieve the best possible results for his patients.

Dr. Whitten earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, and completed his residency at the Washington National Eye Center. He has served as Regional Medical Director for multiple laser eye centers and has trained new doctors in residency programs at Georgetown University and Washington Hospital Center. Throughout his career, his greatest satisfaction has come from improving his patients' vision, and he considers the highest compliment when patients refer their family and friends.
