Dr. Margaret Powell

Dr. Margaret Powell is an ophthalmologist who completed a fellowship in glaucoma. She earned her undergraduate degree from Furman University and an MBA from Clemson University. She then attended medical school at the University of South Carolina, where she also completed an internship in internal medicine. Her ophthalmology residency was at the Storm Institute of the Medical University of South Carolina, and she went on to a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Wisconsin.

Dr. Powell's medical interests include the medical, laser, and surgical treatment of glaucoma, as well as cataract surgery. She is a member of the American College of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Medical Association.

In her free time, Dr. Powell enjoys reading, hiking, cooking, and spending time with family. She says, "I enjoy finding ways to relate to each patient, allowing clear, concise, individualized communication and decision-making. I am rewarded when my patients feel supported as they work toward their personal health goals."
