Dr. Lourdes Casuso

Dr. Lourdes Casuso is an ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist at the Center for Excellence in Eye Care in Miami, where she has been serving patients since 2002. She concentrates her practice on the diagnosis, treatment, and medical and surgical management of glaucoma for patients of all ages. Dr. Casuso accepts patients on a consultative basis from other physicians and eye care providers throughout South Florida, offering expertise in complex glaucoma cases.

Dr. Casuso completed her medical degree with honors at the University of Miami School of Medicine, followed by an internship in internal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She then pursued rigorous ophthalmology training at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and subsequently completed a glaucoma fellowship at the same institution. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, which allows her to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Casuso is actively involved in mentoring medical students, participating in clinical research, and volunteering in community outreach programs to educate the public about glaucoma risks and treatments. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Florida Society of Ophthalmology.
