She graduated with honors from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University, completed ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit where she served as chief resident, and finished a two-year ASOPRS-accredited fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Iowa. In addition to her clinical practice, she holds an affiliate academic role at Loyola and teaches residents at the Hines VA Hospital.
