Dr. Liza Cohen

Dr. Kathryn (Katie) Winkler is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery (oculofacial surgery). She cares for patients with functional and cosmetic concerns of the eyelids, tear drainage system, and orbit. Dr. Winkler offers comprehensive options ranging from eyelid surgery and brow lifting to evaluation and treatment of eyelid lesions, blocked tear ducts, thyroid eye disease, and orbital conditions, with an emphasis on restoring comfort and achieving natural-looking results. Dr. Winkler earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit. She then completed a two-year ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Kresge. She is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Rush University College of Medicine and has contributed through scientific publications and national presentations. She also has a long-standing interest in international medicine and has participated in ophthalmic and oculoplastic care missions abroad.

Dr. Duaa Sharfi is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery. She completed ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai and advanced oculoplastics training (including ASOPRS) at Emory University. An alumna of the University of Illinois at Chicago, she enjoys caring for patients from many backgrounds and speaks English and Arabic. Her practice covers the full spectrum of eyelid, orbital, and lacrimal conditions as well as aesthetic concerns. Patients value her steady surgical skill, collaborative style, and emphasis on shared decision-making—whether restoring eyelid function, addressing tearing or orbital disease, or planning subtle, natural-looking rejuvenation. Dr. Sasha Hubschman is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. As a fellow in the Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, she focuses on conditions that affect the eyelids, orbit, and tear drainage system. Dr. Hubschman received her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, completed her intern year at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and went on to ophthalmology residency at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute. Clinically, Dr. Hubschman cares for patients with droopy or heavy eyelids, eyelid malpositions, tearing from blocked tear ducts, orbital and periocular trauma, and skin cancers around the eyes that require careful reconstruction. She aims to restore both function and appearance, using meticulous surgical planning to protect vision while achieving natural-looking results.
