About Me
Dr. Lindsay Tavares is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and eye surgeon at Pima Eye Institute. Her practice includes glaucoma and cataract management, and she is dedicated to improving the quality of life for her patients through excellent vision care. She is known for her thoroughness, kindness, and professional approach that helps patients feel at ease.
A California native, Dr. Tavares earned her undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College before attending the University of Arizona College of Medicine. During medical school, she earned several honors including the Novak award and scholarship, was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and received the Commitment to Underserved People leadership award. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Arizona, where she published articles in corneal infections and earned the Academic Merit award.
Dr. Tavares is passionate about community service, having participated in programs such as the Tohono O'odham Vision screening program, Sight Savers, and the Optimal Aging program. She is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and patients consistently praise her exceptional skill, caring nature, and thorough explanations of treatment options.
