About Me
Dr. Kevin R. Swan is an ophthalmologist at Joseph, Swan & Sellers Eye Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. He specializes in cornea and external eye diseases, having completed a fellowship in cornea specialty at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Swan provides comprehensive eye care, including treatment for cataracts and glaucoma, laser vision correction, and various eye surgeries. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Swan completed his undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and earned his medical degree from the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He then completed an internship at the same institution, followed by a residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. His professional memberships include the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Lafayette Parish Medical Society, and the Louisiana State Medical Society.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Swan has been involved in community eye care initiatives, such as providing preseason eye screenings for athletes at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette from 2010 to 2015. He was also a research assistant to Dr. Lou Smith in 2002, contributing to several studies. Dr. Swan was honored with the Alpha Omega Alpha award in 2004 and has served in leadership roles, including Vice President of the American Medical Student Association.
