About Me
Dr. Kevin Merkley is an ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. He treats a range of conditions affecting the anterior segment of the eye, including cataracts and corneal disorders. Dr. Merkley has expertise in LASIK and PRK for vision correction, as well as other refractive procedures. He also provides general ophthalmology care. His research interests include the incidence of microkeratome flap complications and comparison of pain after PRK techniques.
Dr. Merkley is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at UTMB. He completed a fellowship in cornea and anterior segment surgery at the University of California Irvine, and an ophthalmology residency at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland.
