About Me
Dr. Kartik Kumar is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus surgery. He joined Pediatric Eye Care of North Texas after serving as the Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where he was awarded the Dean’s Teaching Award and was selected as Teacher of the Year by ophthalmology residents. Dr. Kumar has numerous publications and was recognized as one of Houston’s magazine “Top Docs” in ophthalmology.
His research interests include visual development, amblyopia, and the treatment of strabismus. Dr. Kumar is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He was featured on the TLC show “OutDaughtered,” performing strabismus surgery on one of the quintuplets.
