About Me
Dr. Kandon K. Kamae is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract surgery at Spokane Eye Clinic. He joined the clinic in 2012 and provides medical and surgical management of glaucoma, small incision cataract surgery, and anterior segment procedures. Dr. Kamae utilizes advanced technology including specialty intraocular lenses to tailor cataract surgery to each patient's needs.
Dr. Kamae completed his medical degree at the University of Hawaii's John A. Burns School of Medicine and then pursued residency and a glaucoma fellowship at the John Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and he participates in international volunteer work.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Kamae enjoys singing and playing musical instruments, including the guitar and ukulele. He and his family enjoy the outdoor activities of the Pacific Northwest. He is fluent in Japanese, which can be beneficial for Japanese-speaking patients.
