About Me
Dr. Kamalesh J. Ramaiya is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the treatment of retina and vitreous disorders. He cares for patients at Eye Associates for New Mexico, where he manages a wide variety of retinal conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachments.
Dr. Ramaiya completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Arizona, followed by an internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Washington University in St. Louis and a fellowship in retina at the Barnes Retina Institute. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Retina Specialists.
Known for his thorough and compassionate approach, Dr. Ramaiya takes the time to explain diagnoses and treatment plans to his patients. He offers advanced treatments including retinal injections and surgery, and regularly sees patients at clinics in Albuquerque, Farmington, and Rio Rancho.
