About Me
Dr. John D. Pitcher III is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retina and vitreoretinal surgery. He serves as a retina specialist at Eye Associates for New Mexico, providing care at the Albuquerque Retina Center, Roswell, and Santa Fe Rodeo Park locations. Dr. Pitcher's clinical focus includes the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases, such as retinal tears, epiretinal membranes, and conditions requiring intravitreal injections.
Dr. Pitcher completed his medical education at Baylor College of Medicine, where he graduated with highest honors and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He then completed an internship at The Methodist Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical College, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. His advanced training includes a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
