About Me
Dr. Joseph Simonett is a retina specialist at the John A. Moran Eye Center whose practice focuses on the medical and surgical management of diseases of the retina and vitreous. He cares for patients with macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disease, and ocular trauma, and is committed to delivering thoughtful, evidence-based care. Dr. Simonett earned his medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health and Science University, where he received awards for research and community service, and then completed a vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Utah. In addition to his busy clinical practice, Dr. Simonett conducts research on the safety and effectiveness of retinal injections, advanced retinal imaging techniques, and conditions that can mimic age-related macular degeneration. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and serves as a reviewer for several ophthalmology journals.
