About Me
Dr. Joanne Francis is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in cornea and external diseases, specializing in cataract surgery, intraocular lens placement, and corneal transplantation. Her passion for eye care is inspired by her love for art, and she is dedicated to enhancing patients' lives through restored vision.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Akron's accelerated BS/MD program in Natural Sciences and earned her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and then pursued a cornea and external disease fellowship at the renowned Wills Eye Hospital.
Dr. Francis has particular expertise in Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK) for Fuchs dystrophy and is recognized for her skill in cataract surgery with advanced intraocular lens technology. In 2023, she was named to the Top Doctors List in Fort Worth. She approaches each patient with intentional listening and transparency, customizing treatment plans to individual needs and staying at the forefront of advancements through active involvement in professional organizations and continuous education.
