About Me
Dr. Jay Brainard is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing in Little Rock since 1982. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas and earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, followed by an internship in general surgery and an ophthalmology residency at the same institution. Dr. Brainard served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Navy for six years before establishing his practice.
As a comprehensive ophthalmologist and surgeon, Dr. Brainard provides care for a wide range of eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration. He offers comprehensive eye exams, prescription glasses and contacts, and surgical treatments. Dr. Brainard has held leadership roles such as Chief of Ophthalmology at St. Vincent Hospital and Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
In his personal time, Dr. Brainard enjoys golfing, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren.
