About Me
Dr. Jason Lewis is a board-certified ophthalmologist and oculofacial plastic surgeon currently serving as an Active Duty Army Officer. He is stationed at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, where he holds the role of acting Chief of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Lewis provides specialized oculofacial plastic surgery services as a locums tenens surgeon with Austin Face and Body in Austin, Texas.
Dr. Lewis completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, San Diego, earning a Bachelor of Science in both Animal Physiology & Neuroscience and Psychology. He then received the Army Health Professions Scholarship and graduated with honors from the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. His postgraduate training includes a general surgery internship at Madigan Army Medical Center, an ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
Prior to his medical training, Dr. Lewis conducted preclinical and clinical research in addiction, mental health, and vascular surgery at the Portland Veterans Affairs Hospital and Oregon Health and Science University. Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, hiking, camping, and coaching and playing hockey.
