About Me
Dr. Jason A. Kaplan is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retinal conditions and surgery. He completed his ophthalmology residency at The Friedenwald Eye Institute in Baltimore and pursued advanced retinal fellowships at the University of Texas and the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Kaplan is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
His clinical expertise includes the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, ocular inflammation and infections, and laser surgery. He has a particular interest in feeder vessel treatment for macular degeneration. Dr. Kaplan individualizes treatment for each patient, approaching care with a personal touch as if treating family.
Previously, Dr. Kaplan served as an attending surgeon at the National Retina Institute, where he trained retinal fellows in medical and surgical vitreoretinal disease. He has also lectured extensively on retinal conditions and has published articles in ophthalmic literature.
