About Me
Dr. Jane C. Cook is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea, cataract, and anterior segment surgery. She grew up in Buffalo, New York, and graduated with research honors from Cornell University. Dr. Cook earned her medical degree cum laude from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Cook completed her internship in internal medicine at Brown University and her ophthalmology residency at Case Western Reserve University, where she served as administrative chief resident and was the inaugural resident board member of the Ohio Ophthalmological Society. She then undertook a prestigious fellowship in cornea and external diseases at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, consistently ranked the top eye hospital in the country. Dr. Cook’s clinical expertise includes femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, multifocal and astigmatism-correcting lens implants, corneal transplantation, iris repair, intraocular lens exchange, and the treatment of corneal ulcerations and ocular surface tumors. She has published research on imaging of corneal graft rejection, astigmatism evaluation, and the application of artificial intelligence to diagnose corneal disease. Dr. Cook is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Brown University, where she teaches medical students and residents, and she is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the New England Ophthalmological Society.
