Meet Dr. James Dunn
About Me
James P. Dunn, MD, serves as Director of the Uveitis Unit at Wills Eye Hospital. His clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and medical management of ocular inflammatory conditions, including uveitis and infectious eye diseases. Dr. Dunn has particular expertise in cataract surgery for patients with uveitis and in managing the ocular complications associated with HIV/AIDS and other immunosuppressive conditions. As a board-certified ophthalmologist on the Retina Service, he brings specialized knowledge to the treatment of complex retinal and inflammatory eye disorders.
Dr. Dunn's extensive training includes medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, an internal medicine internship at Wake Forest University, and an ophthalmology residency at New York University. He completed fellowships in cornea and external disease at UCLA and in cornea and uveitis at UCSF. Prior to joining Wills Eye Hospital, Dr. Dunn was a faculty member at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins and now holds an academic appointment as Professor at Sidney Kimmel Medical College.
