About Me
Dr. Jack M. Dodick is an ophthalmologist in Manhattan, New York City, who specializes in cataract surgery and LASIK surgery. He provides these services at his private practice while also serving as the Ophthalmology Department Chair at New York University’s School of Medicine. Dr. Dodick is dedicated to helping patients achieve better vision through advanced eye surgery and practical eye care.
Dr. Dodick completed his undergraduate degree and medical doctorate at the University of Toronto. He performed his residency at the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital and completed clinical fellowships in corneal and anterior segment surgery at New York Medical College. Dr. Dodick is a pioneer in the field, having invented the first FDA-approved laser-based method for cataract removal, known as Dodick Laser Photolysis. He has held leadership roles including president of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS) and currently serves on the Governing Board of the ASCRS Foundation.
