About Me

Dr. Hassan Khojasteh is a fellowship-trained retina specialist and vitreoretinal surgeon who treats the full spectrum of medical and surgical retinal disease. His clinical expertise includes diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, macular holes and epiretinal membranes, inherited retinal disorders, and complex vitreoretinal surgery. Patients appreciate his careful diagnostics, balanced counseling, and steady hands in the operating room. He completed advanced retina fellowships at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and Stanford University School of Medicine, gaining extensive experience in multidisciplinary care for challenging cases. Before joining Erie Retinal Surgery, Dr. Khojasteh served as faculty at Farabi Eye Hospital and Tehran University of Medical Sciences, where he trained residents and retina fellows and directed an electrophysiology and inherited retinal disease service. He has authored peer-reviewed publications, contributed book chapters, and reviews for leading journals.
