About Me
Dr. Fatma Dihowm is a uveitis fellow specializing in the diagnosis and management of ocular inflammatory diseases and uveitis. Her clinical interests include Behcet's Disease, Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease, retinal vasculitis, and other systemic inflammatory conditions with ocular manifestations. With a background in both ophthalmology and rheumatology, she is equipped to handle complex cases involving ocular autoimmunity.
Dr. Dihowm is actively involved in clinical research and has authored multiple publications on topics such as chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis, vancomycin-induced thrombocytopenia, and COVID-19-related mortality. Her research focuses on systemic and ocular inflammations, immunosuppressive therapies, and health disparities, aiming to improve patient outcomes.
She earned her medical degree from Misurata University and completed her ophthalmology residency at Misurata Medical Center. Dr. Dihowm further pursued a Master of Science in Clinical Research at Rush University, followed by an Internal Medicine residency and a Rheumatology fellowship in the United States. Her comprehensive training supports her holistic approach to treating patients with inflammatory eye diseases.
