About Me
Dr. Emmett T. Cunningham Jr. is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retinal and inflammatory eye diseases. He serves as the Director of the Uveitis Service at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and holds an appointment as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Stanford University School of Medicine. His extensive research focuses on uveitis, scleritis, and the ocular manifestations of HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Cunningham completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by specialized fellowships in Cornea, External Disease and Uveitis at the Proctor Foundation and in Medical Retina and Uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. His advanced training and leadership in uveitis services equip him to manage complex retinal inflammatory conditions. He is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the American Society of Retinal Specialists and the American Uveitis Society, and contributes to the field as a section editor for several ophthalmic publications.
