About Me
Emily A. DeCarlo, MD, is a pediatric ophthalmologist with the Division of Ophthalmology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions in children, including strabismus (crossed eyes), amblyopia (lazy eye), and congenital eye disorders. Dr. DeCarlo provides care for both pediatric and adult strabismus, offering comprehensive management to improve vision and eye alignment.
Dr. DeCarlo completed her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, followed by a transitional medicine internship at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Institute, where she served as co-chief resident, and pursued a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is board certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
