About Me
Dr. Ellen Mitchell is a board-licensed pediatric and neuro-ophthalmologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex eye conditions in children and patients with neurological disorders. She has extensive experience working with pediatric and neurology patients, and her research has focused on pediatric intracranial hypertension, pediatric neurofibromatosis, and pediatric neuro-ophthalmology. Dr. Mitchell finds it rewarding to educate her patients about the importance of routine eye care to screen for vision issues early in life.
She completed her medical education at Drexel University College, her residency at Nassau University Medical Center, and pursued further subspecialty training through fellowships at Massachusetts Eye & Ear and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Mitchell is an active member of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology. She serves patients at the Gwinnett location.
