Dr. Elisa Bala

Dr. Elisa Bala is an ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma management and comprehensive eye care. She focuses on diagnosing and treating glaucoma, with an emphasis on preserving vision and managing intraocular pressure. Dr. Bala provides thorough examinations and explains conditions and treatment options clearly to her adult patients, ensuring they understand their eye health.

Dr. Bala completed her medical education at the University of Tirana in Albania before coming to Ohio for further training. She completed an internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland, followed by a glaucoma fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She has been with MetroHealth since 2013 and holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where she is involved in teaching.

In addition to English, Dr. Bala is fluent in Albanian, French, and Italian, which helps her communicate effectively with a diverse patient population. She sees patients aged 19 and older at multiple MetroHealth locations in the Cleveland area.
