About Me
Dr. Douglas Marx is a board-certified oculoplastic surgeon specializing in the full spectrum of eye socket, eyelid, and tear duct surgeries for both adults and children. A native of Utah, he brings extensive experience from top academic centers, including serving as the former Division Chief of Oculoplastics at the Moran Eye Center. He currently handles complex cases as an adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Marx completed his medical degree at Georgetown University, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He refined his surgical skills during residency at Baylor College of Medicine and then pursued a specialized two-year fellowship at Oregon Health & Sciences University, focusing on orbital, eyelid, and lacrimal diseases. His commitment to ethical and humane care was recognized with the Stephen N. Schindler Award during residency and the Distinguished Service Award during his fellowship.
Beyond surgery, Dr. Marx is an active researcher who has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and he frequently presents at national and international meetings. He has also served globally through humanitarian work with LDS Charities. His distinguished career includes serving on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine, treating patients at Texas Children’s Hospital, and working as a team doctor for the Houston Rockets.
