About Me
Douglas A. Jabs, MD, MS, MBA, is an internationally recognized expert in the evaluation and management of uveitis and related immune-mediated ocular disorders. He specializes in the use of immunosuppression to treat severe ocular inflammatory diseases, including uveitic macular edema and ocular infections in immunocompromised patients. Dr. Jabs is founder of the Division of Ocular Immunology and Uveitis at the Wilmer Eye Institute and serves as Director of the Center for Clinical Trials and Evidence Synthesis at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Jabs has led numerous NIH-funded clinical trials focused on uveitis and its complications, chairing studies such as the MUST, MERIT, and POINT trials. He also chairs the Standardization of Uveitis (SUN) Working Group, an international collaboration dedicated to improving diagnosis and classification of uveitis. Patients can expect a thorough, evidence-based approach to managing complex inflammatory eye conditions.
