Meet Dr. Douglas F Buxton

Dr. Buxton is a cornea and refractive surgeon and the Medical Director at Buxton Eye Surgical Group in New York City. He specializes in advanced laser vision correction, including Intralase bladeless and CustomVue procedures, as well as micro-incisional cataract surgery with multifocal and toric intraocular lenses. His expertise also includes corneal transplantation, endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK/DSAEK), and non-invasive periocular cosmetic procedures. Dr. Buxton diagnoses and treats a wide range of anterior segment eye disorders. He is quadruple board certified in LASIK vision correction, ophthalmology, penetrating keratoplasty, and cataract/implant surgery.

Dr. Buxton completed his medical education at Cornell University Medical College and his residency in ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mt. Sinai, followed by a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery. He holds academic appointments and is involved in teaching residents. Through the Jorge N. Buxton, M.D. Microsurgical Education Foundation, he leads medical mission trips to provide eye care in Zambia.
