Dr. Dennis Oconnell

Dr. Dennis O’Connell is a vitreoretinal surgeon and ophthalmologist serving patients in the Lakewood and Aurora areas. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the retina and vitreous, utilizing state-of-the-art laser technology, advanced imaging, and surgical procedures to provide comprehensive care.

He has extensive experience managing a range of retinal conditions, including macular degeneration, retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, and diabetic macular edema. Dr. O’Connell also treats infectious and inflammatory diseases of the eye and stays abreast of the latest medical and surgical advancements.

Dr. O’Connell completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University, earned his osteopathic medical degree from Oklahoma State University, and performed a residency in ophthalmology at Metropolitan Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at The Center for Sight and is the owner of InSight Retinal Consultants.
