Dr. Dean Carlson

Dr. Dean Carlson is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma. He has practiced in Colorado Springs for over 25 years, following service in the Air Force as an ophthalmologist. With more than 30 years of surgical experience, he now focuses on treating patients with complex glaucoma using medications and advanced laser therapies, including Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) and Diode Laser Photocoagulation.

Dr. Carlson has been recognized by his peers as a Colorado Springs Top Doctor multiple times, including from 2016 to 2020. He played a key role in establishing the Pinnacle Eye Center and the Pinnacle Surgery Center, a facility where over 10,000 laser and surgical eye procedures are performed each year.

He is retiring in March 2026. He is an avid golfer and skier and has volunteered on several medical mission trips and served on a local school board.
