About Me
Dr. David Levinson is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in medical and surgical diseases of the retina. He is fellowship-trained and brings extensive expertise in managing conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and macular holes. Dr. Levinson utilizes state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, including small incision, sutureless vitrectomy, to ensure a rapid and comfortable recovery for his patients.
Prior to joining Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Levinson served as a full-time attending physician and assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. He holds hospital appointments at Montefiore Medical Center and Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Dr. Levinson completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin and earned his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in the top 5% of his class. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at Nassau University Medical Center/Stony Brook University Hospital, where he served as chief resident, followed by two retina fellowships at NYU Medical Center and the University of Toronto. He is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and a diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
