About Me
Dr. Cody Richardson is a pediatric ophthalmologist at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute who cares for infants, children and adolescents, and also treats adult strabismus. He helps patients with amblyopia (lazy eye), eye misalignment, and vision problems that can affect school, sports and daily activities.
Dr. Richardson treats a wide range of pediatric conditions, including infant and childhood cataracts and pediatric ocular trauma, and he has experience caring for visual disturbances related to brain tumors in children and the ocular effects of radiation or chemotherapy. He completed fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus and an ophthalmology residency at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, with additional training at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He also participates in international outreach through an annual surgical mission trip to provide strabismus care for underserved children. Families can expect a thoughtful evaluation and a clear plan, whether treatment involves glasses, patching, medication or surgery.
