Dr. Christine Mata

Dr. Christine M. Mata is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon at Milwaukee Avenue Eye Center in Niles, Illinois. She provides comprehensive eye care and cataract surgery, and she has a special interest in medical retinal diseases such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema.

Dr. Mata completed undergraduate studies in biochemistry and genetics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University in 2010, then completed an ophthalmology residency at Loyola University Medical Center in 2014. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
