Dr. Catherine Liu

Dr. Catherine Liu is a board-certified ophthalmologist on the Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Cornea and Refractive Surgery Services at Mass Eye and Ear. A native of Canada, she completed ophthalmology residency at McGill University in Montreal, where she served in multiple leadership roles including Chief Resident. She then pursued an advanced two-year fellowship at Mass Eye and Ear, gaining broad expertise in the evaluation and surgical management of common, complex, and high-risk corneal and external diseases.

Dr. Liu provides comprehensive eye care with a focus on cataract and refractive surgery, corneal transplantation, and the full spectrum of corneal and ocular surface conditions. She is double board-certified in both the United States and Canada and performs procedures that include laser vision correction as well as keratoplasty when appropriate. Patients appreciate her thoughtful explanations, attention to safety, and individualized guidance from diagnosis through recovery.
