Meet Dr. Carol Karp
About Me
Dr. Carol Karp is an ophthalmologist specializing in ocular oncology and anterior segment surgery. She is recognized for her pioneering work in the treatment of ocular surface tumors, particularly the use of interferon therapy as a non-surgical alternative. Her expertise includes the management of corneal and conjunctival tumors, corneal transplants, cataracts, and laser vision correction. Dr. Karp has also innovated the use of high-resolution anterior segment OCT to improve diagnosis and treatment planning for surface tumors.
Dr. Karp serves as a professor of ophthalmology and holds the Richard K. Forster Chair in Ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. She is co-director of Bascom Palmer's Inter-American Course in Clinical Ophthalmology and is actively involved in research on ocular surface oncology. Her clinical practice is based at Bascom Palmer's LASIK and Laser Vision Center and Ocular Surface Center in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Karp sees adult patients and offers virtual visits. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
